Choosing a quality printer is very subjective.
The printer that I have been using for many wonderful years is the Brother MFCL2750DW all-in-one laser printer.
This is Apple AirPrint compatible.
There are literally thousands of printers and multifunction devices from which to choose. To narrow that list down to a manageable few, I highly recommend reviewing MrHoffman's User Tip: Which Printer Should I Buy? - Apple Community.
Quoting from it, "There's no one right printer for everybody."
You need to determine what is important for you.
Write down the criteria.
Connectivity - Wifi?, Ethernet, USB?? (all three?)
Battery Operated - Portable; AC operated stationary
Price?
Inkjet, Ink tank, laser dry ink.
Monochrome, Color??
Fax or no fax (probably none these days)
How do you get your scan? Cloud drive sharing? Email sharing?
Franky the all in ones are often not as good as separate elements - Scanner and Printer.
Since you have low volumes - the consumer versions are probably OK to use.
Well known brands HP, Epson, Cannon, Brother.
Go to a office supply store (e.g., staples) or Best Buy and take a look what is available.
Consumer reports may have done a review for you.
I prefer laser printers - I have an HP Laser Jet Pro MFP-M428FDW which is now quite a few years old.
The wifi setup of my HP was painful - they are better used on an ethernet cable with wifi access via the local network. But if you want something portable, a wifi connection is probably important where there is no local network. The HP MFP-M428FDW is more a desktop unit and not readily portable. The scanning is clumsy on the MFP-M428FDW. Scan to email does not work well any more (double authentication issue possibly). Scan to a cloud drive works better but is difficult. Newer HP office systems have probably improved. I have a Fujitsu Scansnap 1600 sheet fed scanner that better interfaces to a cloud drive that I prefer to use. Your mileage may vary.
The answer is very subjective. You need to first decide on a couple of questions such as: do you need to print color or is black & white printing ok?, whether to opt for a laser printer (with will be black & white only), what is your cost range? and try critically, what is the cost for replacement ink cartridges? When buying a new printer for my wife, I addressed these issues and then researched the available printers on line, recording the information I found on an Excel spread sheet. It takes some time and effort but it is time well spent. Asking someone else to tell you what to do is foolish.
