And text-based timeline search now includes important information like reel, scene, camera angle, and more.

Final Cut Pro 10.8 introduces Enhance Light and Color

I accidentally initialized my MacBook Pro, and now that the recovery is complete, I can resume my activities. Recovery will be completed smoothly if you have regular backups using Time Machine etc. Please make sure to get into the habit of backing up your data.

This is the main topic. I have the impression that FCP's color correction method is closer to Adobe's. This is the exact opposite of the idea of "dividing into nodes and comparing them" like in DaVinci Resolve. Personally, I am concerned that if color correction parameters are combined into one effect, it will be difficult to compare the effects of each parameter.

I appreciate that it calculates the parameters comprehensively, but I think it would be even better if you could compare the effects by turning them on and off.

I'm looking forward to Final Cut Camera. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's as good as being promoted. I've been using Blackmagic Camera and like it except for having to double-save each clip if I want it saved to my Photo Library (In-App + Photo Library is 2 saves taking up 2x the space). Also looking forward to being able to do ProRes.

DO NOT UPGRADE. Yet.

Pardon me, but I am a lowly producer who only rough-cuts on FCPX. I am not one of you. But it does not take deep expertise to notice that the audio has become intermittent on my existing timeline; that audio has become intermittent on source clips; that the audio waveform has disappeared on some clips ... which play audio none-the less.

But I see that this appears to be (or "sounds like") the same issue as last time; see Audio and volume issues after FCP update - Apple Community.

I will need to speak with my pro first, then perhaps AppleCare, and then follow this or another link to discover the answer to recovering three months worth of documentary rough-cutting.

Again, as a producer, I would normally not intrude on the world of professional editors ... people I hire and admire. But this may have cost me tens-of-thousands of dollars. It is my duty to report this to everyone possible.

Hi, I have partially discovered where the problem comes from.

These are bugs from update 10.8.

You can tell they haven't tested this update in this situation:

The problem in the masks ("Transform", "Crop" and "Distort") which crash the program arises if the three-finger dragging function is enabled in the trackpad settings (Accessibility - pointer control - trackpad options - use dragging - three-finger drag).

By deactivating the "use trackpad for dragging" option, the problem with these three masks is resolved.

As regards the «Sample color» mask of the «Green screen Keyer» effect, some small problems remain.

That is, it is a bit slow in action.
