Hello,

I think that is the iPhone making sure you are not attempting to activate Apple Pay, the shortcut to activate Apple Pay is to double-click the power button.

If you would like to disable the "Double Click" feature follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Scroll to "Wallet and Apple Pay" and open the page
  3. Then disable the "Double-Click Side Button"

When you lock your device you should not be a delay.

Take care,

James
