Video call in telegram and screen sharing are not working

100% correct. Telegram performance in windows on the same hardware - frame rate, overall capability - will shock you.

2013 MacBook Air top spec, runs like molasses in last supported macOS or Sonoma. Currently supported to Windows 10 - yet the manufacturer has walked away from the hardware.

What is astonishing is the difference in speed. Especially graphics... this machine is no powerhouse but the performance of the HD5000 in windows will never have me boot into MacOS again unless I absolutely have to. In macOS, I have never been able play a full screen 1080p sized video, then screen share full screen, still use laptop and not expect the laptop to nearly incinerate and become unusable.

In windows 10 or 11... you will be surprised. Worth the effort to reinstall. Extremely disappointing that all this time to think we tolerated and explained anway often totally underwhelming performance for no good reason.

Do you have any other video camera capable app open at the same time? That could prevent Telegram from being able to use it.

Make sure for obvious reasons that you do not close the lid of your computer. The camera is on top of the LCD screen.

It seems the problem is that there is no Telegram entry in Privacy & Security "Camera" tab.

In case of screen share, Telegram requests access, and although it doesn't work too, there is an entry in Screen Recording tab of Privacy & Security.

Unfortunately, there's no Telegram option to provide camera access to.

Please, keep updated if anything changes! My aunt's laptop is Late 2013 model, Big Sur is the latest OS available for it. The problem seems to be present only there.

Same problem. It's a problem with mac only. On Windows screen sharing works fine.

I know Sonoma has automatic camera sharing built in, can't remember prior lol
