How to turn off health data collection on iPhone?

Hello. Some time ago, I bought my first iPhone (15 pro max). While setting up the connection with my Garmin watch, I noticed that the iPhone collects data such as the number of steps, rest time, headphone volume, etc... It does this and has been doing it from the beginning despite motion&fitness tracking being turned off and all possible permissions revoked. How can I disable it, so that the iPhone doesn't collect this data? I don't need it, and I don't want it to do it.

iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 17

Hello, Boloyang

I have attached some steps and an Apple article below that may help you solve your issue with Health. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

This Apple support article contains all the information about Managing Health data on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, you will be able to find a solution in this article.

However, I have encountered this issue before and I have found some steps that have worked for myself, so I attached them below, I hope they work for you as well.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
  2. In Settings, select Privacy
  3. In Privacy, tap Motion & Fitness
  4. In Motion and Fitness, locate Health in the list and turn off the switch beside it.

These steps should stop your iPhone from collecting health data. Please note that these instructions should work in iOS 17, however, it may be different for other iOS versions.

Take care,

James

Hi James, thank you very much for your response! I've already read the article, and I couldn't find what I'm looking for there. I don't have or use the Health app, so it's not even there in the place you mention in point 4. The problem is that in that place, besides the "apps" section, there's also a "devices" section, and there's the iPhone. When I go further, I see all the data it has collected, but I don't want the device to collect any of it
