Is there an app that can help block spam mail in my inbox?

I'm finding dealing with spam in Mac Mail and iOS Mail very frustrating, as the tools provided are practically useless...

  • 'Blocking' senders doesn't block anything, the emails still arrive but just have a fancy 🚫 attached to them. And they always appear as un-read, which, to me, is pointless, as I don't want to see them at all.

  • Until recently, iCloud Mail allowed Rules for domains and domain extensions - so any (probably unwanted) email ending with .fr or .jp or .rom, for example, could be sent straight to trash and marked as read before even appearing on my devices. That was actually useful, but has now been withdrawn.

  • Decades-old BT Mail allows for the actual blocking of addresses and domains, and works perfectly.

So my question is, can anyone suggest an extension or app which handles spam better than Mac Mail and iOS Mail? More like BT Mail perhaps, where blocked emails are never even seen...?

Thanks.

Your footer indicates the availability of a Mac, so you have access to far more extensive rules and scripting capabilities than is available with iCloud. These capabilities are built directly into Mail app. These rules do run on the Mac and access your mail on the server from there, and these rules are not running independently on iCloud.

Use rules to manage emails you receive in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

I make extensive use of both those rules, as well as SpamSieve mentioned above.

Apple doesn’t offer anything close to SpamAssassin with iCloud mail, and the rules support in iCloud is pretty limited, though other hosting providers can offer access to SpamAssassin or similar tooling, and better and more flexible rules capabilities.

Yup.

Free or PAID version

Have seen some of the More Senior Contributors suggest this

I personally have not has a Need to use it

Yes, use iCloud mail as one of my email servers

Yes, Blocked Sender does catch most of the Spammers and put them in Junk

Doing a quick review of Junk Folder to insure they are ALL Really Spam

One quick keyboard combo and presto - they do not get moved to Deleted.

They are deleted

1 - Report Them >> as a File Attachment to >> reportphishing@apple.com

2 - About your @icloud.com, @me.com and @mac.com email addresses

3 - If one has the exceptions to Block the Sender before that read the Inbox and using iCloud as you Main email account

Sorry, do not thing this requested Feature exists from Mail from iCloud email accounts

Long way around, would to setup via www.icloud.com a setting in there to Forward ALL emails to a Third Party email account that does offer Blocking Senders and or Domains from the Server Side.

Some email services and some ISPs do offer such a feature

There are things we can Control and then there are things we Can not Control

Once there has been a Data Breach, not through your fault, all bets are off

When an email address has become Exposed on the internet via some Social Media Sites, again all bets are off.

Remedial actions are the best we can do.

One maybe surprised with the results

One of my 3 different email addresses was exposed by a Data Breach from my ISP.

Another email address exposed by a well know Software Developer

The third was exposed while Traveling Abroad and using the Wifi at a hotel in Amsterdam while transiting to connection flight to BKK the next day

I know I was
