How can I give Facebook access to my camera?

I am on a MacBook Pro 2020 using OS Sonoma 14.2.1. I want to do my first Facebook Live from my laptop but Facebook say I need to give Facebook access to my camera. I understand that this is automatically preset, I can't do it manually through privacy and security in Settings. Is there a workaround?

I am due to host an interview with someone who doesn't have the app on her phone in about 12 hours time!

So my request is a little time sensitive and urgent.

If you are using the Facebook Live app, you would grant access to your camera & microphone in Post > Options.

If you are just using a web browser, after doing Go Live or Create live video event you would set your camera & microphone.

It is also possible to grant camera & microphone permission in the options for your web browser; the exact method varies slightly from browser to browser. In Firefox, for example, it's in Settings > Privacy & Security > Permissions. But you need to know the exact website address for which you want to grant permission to use the camera & microphone. ("Facebook.com" may work by itself but it may instead be something like "facebook.com/{yourpagename}/live". You would need to verify this.)
