Upgrade a gift without a receipt

Received an iPad generation 10 as a gift but receipt was not included. Can I bring to an Apple store and exchange it for an upgraded model with more storage?

iPad, iOS 10

In most countries, if purchased directly from Apple, you have 14-days within which to return an unwanted item for exchange or refund - however, you will require a receipt to prove (a) the purchase date, and (b) that the item was actually purchased directly from Apple.

As such, without a receipt, you are very unlikely to be successful in exchanging your iPad.

Consider speaking to the gift-giver - and ask for their help.
