I want to take my iMac in to recycle

Question

I have a late 2013 iMac 27"

I would like to recycle it.

It has no trade-in value.

I do not need to purchase anything new.

Can I return this for recycling to my local apple store?

Just called them and they thought not?.

The website suggests I can return any apple products for recycling free of charge, without an appointment.

Please can I get some clarity on this?

This is returned.

I then called my local apple store who disagreed.
