apple mail for MacPro Monterey 12 does not open the mails, only the titles

Hello. The e-mail titles are visible at the left, but the content of the mail stays invisible all the time.

Only when I reply to the sender, I can see the content of the incoming e-mail.

The issue is only on the MacPro Monterey 12 with apple mail.

On my iphone it works well.

I woud like to keep working on Monterey a little longer, is there a way to avoid the mail issue?

Thanks for the help.

Many regards

Els

Hi Els,

It sounds like you're experiencing a common issue with Apple Mail on macOS Monterey where the email content does not display properly. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. **Restart Apple Mail**: Sometimes simply quitting and reopening Apple Mail can resolve the issue. You can do this by clicking on "Mail" in the menu bar and selecting "Quit Mail", then reopening it.

2. **Rebuild Mailbox**: Rebuilding the mailbox can help fix issues with the email content not displaying. Here's how:

- Open Apple Mail.

- Select the mailbox (e.g., Inbox) you want to rebuild.

- Go to "Mailbox" in the menu bar and select "Rebuild".

3. **Reset NVRAM/PRAM**: Resetting NVRAM/PRAM can sometimes resolve display issues. To do this:

- Shut down your Mac.

- Turn it on and immediately press and hold Option + Command + P + R for about 20 seconds.

- Release the keys and let your Mac continue to start.

4. **Delete Mail Preferences**: Deleting the mail preferences file can sometimes resolve the issue:

- Close Apple Mail.

- Open Finder and navigate to `~/Library/Preferences`.

- Locate and delete the file named `com.apple.mail.plist`.

- Reopen Apple Mail.

5. **Check Email Account Settings**: Ensure that your email account settings are correctly configured:

- Open Apple Mail and go to "Mail" > "Preferences".

- Click on the "Accounts" tab and verify your email account settings.

6. **Update macOS**: Ensure that your Mac is up-to-date with the latest version of macOS Monterey. Sometimes, updates include bug fixes that can resolve issues with Apple Mail.

7. **Safe Mode**: Boot your Mac in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. Safe Mode can help identify whether a third-party app or extension is causing the problem:

- Restart your Mac and hold down the Shift key immediately after you hear the startup sound.

- Release the Shift key when you see the login screen.

- Open Apple Mail in Safe Mode and check if the emails are displayed correctly.

- Restart your Mac normally to exit Safe Mode.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you might consider contacting Apple Support for further assistance. They can provide more advanced troubleshooting steps and help you diagnose any potential underlying issues.

Many regards,

Lulu ♡

does this happen with ONE mail provider, or more than one?

what is your email provider?

Your description sound like confusion between POP mail (which send the entire email whenever you look) and IMAP email, which keeps the email messages on the server, and proffers only the titles. then when you decide you want to actually read a particular email, it send you the rest.

is the receiving sever is using the correct PORT number?
