new "local" phone number

does Apple have a way to issue "Proxy" phone numbers like Google's? I moved to a new area of the country and would like new neighbors to know I am now local not several states away

Block calls from a specific country I am being spam called by +44 numbers four weeks now. They call at least 20 times per day. I started blocking all numbers that call me from +44 but they keep changing the last digits of the numbers and no matter how many I block, I am still called at least 10 times a day. I can not block enough. At the moment I think I already blocked about 20 numbers starting with +44 7441 90x xxx (the xxxx is changing). it gets me crazy!!! please let me know how do I block a whole country code, as I am in the Netherlands and I do not have anyone who should call me from the UK. Nor I have my number to anyone or anything from there as far as I know. Also I did answer twice, but when I answer no response and after a while they or it hags up. I don’t know what to do anymore. please help

Block phone number exchange on iPhone? Reposting a prior member’s question that was not answered. Blocking calls from an entire exchange or area code I know that it is possible to block a specific number on the iPhone, but a lot of telemarketers these days use many different numbers from the same exchange. When I block one number they simply call me from another one using the same exchange with a different last 4 digits. On my Ooma phone service that I use for my land line I can block an unwanted exchange by entering the number on my blocked caller list using the area code, the 3 digit exchange and then ****. Does anyone know if this works on the iPhone? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Getting a new GoogleVoice number in your new locale is a not-too-difficult option.
