Why is there a red outline on my iPhone 11 Pro Max screen?
the entire phone is covered with a reflection around the display. the red frame is visible even when the display is turned off.

The first I noticed is your screen protector is cracked, meaning the phone has been dropped and that could mean the phone has hardware damage. The first thing I'd try is to remove the screen protector and check the screen. But I would not leave the phone without a screen protector, so if the protector is somehow causing the redness, have a new screen protector immediately ready to install. If, after removing the protector, you still see the redness, it's time to pay a visit to the Apple Store Genius Bar for service options.
