How can I know if the password reset requests for all my devices are legitimate or a hack?

All my devices have suddenly been asking me to Reset my Password using the selected device - apple watch, MacBook pro, iPhone. this constantly keeps happening, over and over on all my devices. it ask if to ALLOW or NOT ALLOW and its very concerning. how could this be happening? is it legit or a hack? please need help to fix the problem. i have already changed my password using iCloud on my own. thank you!

There was a rash of this request which has befuddled many....with no clear reasoning.
