I'm moving to the UK, what should I do to use my iPhone?

I am moving to the UK in the upcoming month and looking to use my apple I phone there. What limitations are there? I use a known carrier here in USA. Will I need a new sim card and use a UK carrier there or use number?

Keeping your U.S. carrier and number would be prohibitively expensive. You will need a new carried and a new SIM. If you bought your phone from your carrier, contact them and make sure that the phone is unlocked for another carrier.
