Problem forgetting wifi networks on my iPhone SE 2016 w/ iOS 15.8.2

Hello All.

I travel a lot. So I have lots of redundant wifi networks stored on my 1st Gen iPhone SE (2016). How can I delete/forget them?

I've tried the Settings/Wi-fi/Edit method... but running iOS 15.8.2, the Edit option has disappeared.

I don't want to completely reset my iPhone. Just forget the existing networks.

Thanks in advance.

Settings are different on iOS 17, which I am using now.

Try Tap Settings > General and look for a Reset Option.

You will have to Reset All Network Settings to erase all of the known Wi-Fi networks and then manually add the networks that you want to use back in as needed at the time.

When you do move to iOS 17, you will have the option to tap Edit and display a list of each network that the phone remembers and delete any network that you want without affecting other networks.

There is not Edit for forgetting a network.

Forgetting a device on an iPhone means removing its pairing and connection information from the device's memory. When you pair certain devices, like Bluetooth headphones, speakers, or other accessories, your iPhone stores the connection details to make it easy to reconnect in the future.

When you "forget" a device, you are essentially erasing that pairing information from your iPhone. As a result, the device will no longer be recognized, and your iPhone won't automatically connect to it when it's in range.

After forgetting a device, if you want to use it again in the future, you'll need to put the device into pairing mode and re-establish the connection by going through the pairing process on your iPhone.

Thanks for you response. But obviously I have not made myself clear.

I wish to keep/remember the wifi network I am currently using... plus a handful of others (family and friends etc) that I might use in the future.

I want to delete/forget the hundreds of wifi networks stored on my iPhone that I am never going to use ever again. Ie historical and obsolete networks from hotels, cafes and airports.

On my Macbook, this process is easy by going to Network Preferences/Advanced and deleting them manually.

But on my iPhone, I cannot find a way to locate or forget them.

The solution (according to YouTube, this website and elsewhere) should be Settings/Wi-fi/Edit. See blue Edit, top right in attached photo below.

However, on MY iPhone, there is NO Edit option. I have never seen an Edit option on my iPhone but I have never looked for it before.

I want to delete/forget my obsolete (ie I'm never going to use them again) wifi networks... as the are probably hundreds of them.
