Upgrade from Lion to Catalina

Hi @everyone

I have 2 MacBook Pro mid 2012 which are working we’re well with Catalina. Until last week when one the Hdd are broken.

I buy an Samsung Evo 1Tb and I start the recover. The original IOS is Lion and I don’t know how to upgrade to Catalina.

Any advise is more than welcome.

App Store requires at least 10.11 I believe.

Are you holding Option key at startup to see... oh wait, Catalina is APFS wich requires at least 10.13.6 to read.

I think you're going to have to install 10.11 1st the 10.13...

See if you can upgrade to 10.11, 10.12, 10.13, 10.14, or 10.15, see sys requirements...

but you can edit the domain part of the URL and change the "/cert/" to "/macos/" to still be able to download it:

Hi

in the Lion iOS I can’t connect to the Apple Store to upgrade to Catalina. And I don’t know why.

Even the Safari is the old version and I am not able to see a website because the sistem tell me is an connection error.

i have a similar MacBook Pro, same period who are installed in his hdd the Catalina iOS software. I intend to use this hdd as a recovery hdd but without result. The Catalina hdd can’t be seen by the Lion iOS.

now I transfer from the Catalina hdd all the info to the Lion hdd and I hope will work. What do you think?
