New iPad asking for Apple ID passwords I don't know

I just purchased a new iPad, and when I go on to do anything, it asks for Apple IDs that I do not know the password for -- one that I think my husband had at some point, but he does not remember, one that was associated with an old roommate who used my computer about 15 years ago. . . I have no way of getting these passwords or resetting them, and can't seem to get past this popup to be able to do anything on the iPad at all. This has never happened with other new phones, iPads or computers I've had in the past, though I'm sure there is some random app that was downloaded on someone else's account 10+ years ago that is causing this problem. Help!

iPad, iPadOS 17

If you set this iPad up from a backup, then it is attempting to load apps that were downloaded with another Apple ID. You would not notice them on the original device unless the app had an update, then it would ask for the password. It may be best to set the iPad up again as new using just your Apple ID and not transferring from a backup. When this happened to me, the pop-ups did go away after cancelling them many times. The more apps that were downloaded with a different Apple ID, the more you will initially see these popups.

have you bought the iPad new or secondhand? If you bought it second hand there is a change that it is not wiped properly and that the previous owners Apple ID was still on there

if it is a new iPad and it is an old Apple ID of yours or your old roommate then there could be some mingling of Apple ID,sIF you have set up the iPad using another apple device. Check on your other devices at settings>your name with which Apple ID you;re logged in to. Check this also at your new iPad.

I hope this can shine some light on the situation!

Thank you for your help! I bought it new. I have checked my phone and computer and all are signed in with my primary Apple ID. This iPad is as well, but it still keeps popping up requesting multiple other Apple ID passwords. Trouble is, I can't even bypass the pop up box for long enough to go INTO settings on my iPad! I have a session set up with an Apple help rep for tomorrow so hopefully the will be able to help me. . .
