Garbled text in browser

I cannot figure this one out. Randomly, some text in various Gmail and browser pages/chat pop ups have garbled text. It is not in an other language but using the same character set. (US keyboard). I have a MacBook Pro (Mid 2015) using MACOS 11.7.9. I am not sure if this is coming form my MAC or in Chrome/Brave. For example, when viewing Gmail the email viewed using Chrome/Brave is garbled but that same email in Safari is not. I cannot figure out how to fix it. Any advice?

If Safari works OK but other browsers do not, you need to ask in the support sites for the other browsers.

If you could post a screen shot of an example from Chrome, someone might be able to suggest what that app is doing wrong.

One thing to try is to open the Font Book app, go to its Settings, and click on Reset Fonts, and restart your machine.

Thanks. I restored my fonts. I do not have the settings option in my version. It seems to have fixed it. Hopefully that was it!

Yes, that option moved to Settings in Ventura and later, I forgot you were running an earlier MacOS version.

Good news that it fixed the problem!
