I have a numbers file of customers (approx; 750) and I created a mail merge file with pages. Now I want to make a mail merge for a specific town (approx; 50 names) Is there a way that I can preselect these 50 names on the numbers sheet and that I therefore get 50 letters instead of 750 ?

Create a subset Numbers sheet with just the separate town data and use that in the merge. I don't believe Pages is going to act like a relational database and allow you to select a range of merge candidates. It is the big gulp.
