my iPhone xr doesn’t have nfc

Hello!

so, ever since since I brought my iPhone XR a few years ago, I could never use the wallet app to pay or the option to share my contact just joining the iPhones

is there something that I need to activate?

Opening Apple Pay when near another Phone Hello, so every time I put my phone near another Iphone to airdrop a picture or to receive one or even if its just my friends phone and mine laying on top of each other my Iphone always cause the other Iphone to open their apple wallet/ card. Contactless payments don't work on iPhone 13 After iOS Update Hello, Since updating to iOS 18.3.1, I've been unable to make contactless payments with my iPhone 13. Previously, there were no such issues. Even after updating to iOS 18.4, the problem persists. The issue arises in stores when I double-click and it prompts me to "hold near reader", but the reader fails to recognize any of my cards. I should mention my iPhone was designed for the Chinese market, and I currently reside in the EU. However, I don't believe this is related to the issue, as NFC technology is standardized and I experienced no problems before the iOS 18.3.1 update.

All Xr phones had NFC built-in.

There’s no “activation” or “on/off” switch. (as there is on Bluetooth or WiFi)

The NFC is completely controlled by software applications. (one reason that maintaining “current” software is essential)

Have you added payment methods to your Apple Wallet app? Is your iPhone updated to latest iOS 17.5.1?
