Magic Mouse and keyboard freezing randomly

I have a 2022 Mac Studio with an M1 Max running Sonoma 14.5.


Today I noticed the Magic Mouse and keyboard randomly freezing - just stopping for an instant, then starting again.


I've tried restarting the machine, cleaning the sensor on the mouse, unpairing then repairing the mouse, unplugging peripherals, but to no avail. The mouse keeps freezing. Same with the keyboard.


I've read other posts but they're from 2023 and earlier, and no one seems to have an answer.


The websites that offer "support" are there for the ad clicks and are pretty useless.


Is anyone having the same issues? Anyone have any fixes?

Hmm, that's still pretty close. Have you tried using a different 2.4 GHz channel to see if it makes any difference? ... or reduced the output power of your router's wireless radio?


Do you have any of the following operating nearby? Cordless phones, microwaves, or baby monitors. These too can cause interference with Bluetooth signals.


Lastly, do you happen to have a wired mouse/keyboard you can try out just to be sure the issue is not with your Mac? If not, you may want to consider getting both as they can certainly come in handy for troubleshooting issues like this.
