iPad cover magnet

I have an iPad Mini 4 that I keep in a typical case where the cover goes over the screen and a little magnet puts the iPad to sleep. When you open the cover, then, it wakes up. When I open the cover I have always flipped it around to the back side while I use it.

Today I had the battery and screen replaced. Now, when I open the cover and flip it around to the back, the iPad senses the magnet and goes to sleep.

Can anyone explain to me why that happens now and it never did before?

I asked the place that did the work. They had no explanation and said they didn't do anything that would have affected it.

Was the screen replaced by Apple or an authorized Apple repair facility? If it wasn’t then you dealt with a 3rd party that did not use genuine Apple parts. Unfortunately, this would be the reason for your issues and Apple won’t assist you (you voided that opportunity by going to an unauthorized place for repairs. At this point there isn’t likely much you can do
