Same with me, totally annoying, after updating my phone to latest software my iPhone battery started to drain faster like before it would drain 50% in 6 to 8 hours and now it was draining 50% in 4 to 6 and most of the times phone was ideal and i was not using it. Thanks to another apple thread in this forum where I found a guide  How to Stop Battery Draining on iPhone After a Recent IOS Update where I got to know that Disabling Siri and search settings as well as journaling suggestions and the app privacy report that run in the background and can drain the battery fast even when you are not using your phone. I followed other solutions too and now my battery drains to 50% in 8 to 10 hours with the same usage.

ios 17 is the worst version of ios in the last 5 years, on par with ios 11, throughout all the releases of ios 17 I have been experiencing fast battery drain, stutters in the UI and a lot of bugs throughout the system, my $699 iPhone is worse than my old 5 year old Android phone! I am shocked. I contacted Apple support and gave them information about all the bugs I know about, also attached a lot of screen recordings and screenshots. They confirmed that they currently have "global problems" with the software and in future updates this will most likely be fixed, so we can only wait or switch to Android, at the moment I consider Android phones more stable than iPhones. Just wait my friends!

Like all the others here. After 17.5.1 update i encounter extreme battery drain and life drop from 90% to 86% after update. Battery drains almost 50-60% in 4 hours without using it before update battery lasts almost day and half without charging. APPLE - wake up and do something about this. My useage habits have NOT changed. Totally unacceptable.

You are simply wrong. If I install an update, and I now have to charge my phone 4 times in a day to 100%, and before the update it would make it all day, I think it's pretty safe to presume it's the update. Particularly when I've taken the time to close all apps and reboot the phone, I have background app refresh very selectively set, and most of the day it sat on an end table not used. And when the music background activity has returned to consume 20% of my battery life and I've played no music, and I haven't driven anywhere, something is up.

I have an iPhone 14 Plus with version iOS 17.6 (21G80). I have noticed my battery drains faster and my battery maximum capacity is 95%. I have an Anker lightning cord that I use with my usb wall plug in.

The actual iPhone itself and the USB box feel hotter than usual. It’s very concerning.

My solution (yes I have one!) is as follows:

Take your iPhone out of any type of protective case and allow the smartphone to breathe. Charge it then!

I have an Otter box and removing the actual smartphone carefully from this protection accessory (that’s way overpriced) is my solution to better and faster battery charging (recommended to 80%) and there are no higher temperature issues with my smartphone or usb box any longer.

I do recommend using the device protection case when on the go (walking or any movement) so you don’t drop and damage the screen.

Hope this can help just one person. ✔️✌🏻
