Mail app will not paste in a hyperlink.

Since updating my new iPad Pro M4 to PadOS 17.5.1 it is impossible to add a link to an email. The add link brings up the usual window and the paste into the window works but when I then press ‘return’ to insert it the window and link disappears.

Any ideas?

How can I paste web links into Compose view on Mail using iPad? Trying to copy links from a web page and inserting them as links in an email (gmail) on an iPad version 7. ios 15.6.1 When I compose an email on my macbook, I get a toolbar along the bottom with options to Format, attach a file, insert a link, insert an emoji and more. Links won’t work in searches and emails Every time I click on a link in my emails, it says safari can’t open that page. And it does it with my searches as well. It’s not internet related either, I can’t access anything from within my email I use my iPad for everything, I need these to work properly, please help

That Mail Add Link expects that you have selected some text in the email body beforehand and then the link will be applied to that text.
