Downloading photos from my I Phone to my computer

I copied many photos from my IPhone 13 to my computer. I verified they were copied before deleting from my IPhone. Then I found out that only thumbnail size images (12 kb) were copied instead of the whole file (4 MB) (even though it took forever and multiple attempts to copy).

Apple has betrayed me. You were supposed to be the good camera and now I find out you don't want me to have my own photos. You try to force cloud on everyone. I don't want my photos going to your cloud. They are mine, not yours. If you require I cloud to use and download photos, you have lost a customer for life.

I am so disappointed in Apple. So many photos lost. Don't even think of suggesting that it is my bad. It should be a simple thing to copy photos from a phone to a computer and you first make it difficult, and then make it impossible without using your I cloud. I consider this business model to be nothing short of evil.

My photos are gone. Nothing you can say or do can make up for that.

Calm down lol

Do you still have the device? If so, restore the device using the last saved backup, so everything will be put back onto the device (if you wiped it).

Go to Settings, Photos, and select the Download and Keep Originals option listed.

This will put full resolution versions of your photos and videos, back on the device itself, giving you the option to do a local transfer instead of a cloud transfer since you’re experiencing issues with that method.

There’s other methods you can try as long as you keep “Download and Keep Originals” option toggled.

Option 1:

If you have enough storage in Google Drive or Microsoft’s OneDrive to support all the media that’s on your device, you can try downloading one of those apps on that iPhone, and upload the media there.

Option 2:

Depending on the manufacturer of the device you’re switching to, they may have an app in the Apple App Store that’ll move everything from the iPhone to their phone.
