Titanium Apple Card does not work with swipe parking meters

I live in Los Angeles and my physical titanium Apple Card does not work in swipe parking meters. It also does not work at parking pay stations, both swipe and chip. It works everywhere else. Thinking it got demagnetized I ordered a new card and as soon as it arrived I authorized it and went to a swipe parking meter and it didn’t work. I’ve read others have the same problem at swipe gas stations. In the past it worked with swipe parking meters. Then one day it stopped. There is some greater issue going on that is not demagnetization of the card. Does anyone have an answer for this?

Some transaction terminals will reject the metal and metal composite cards because of their thickness. I’ve had issues with all 3 of my cards that contain metal from time to time. In my serval years active in the community here this is the first I’ve heard of this issue with parking meters though.

The only other possibility is a BIN block by the merchant operating the meters. The first 6 numbers of the card are the Bank Identification Number or BIN. When the card is swiped or the chip is inserted the BIN can be checked and transactions blocked. So, if the merchant doesn’t accept Visa cards, the BIN can be blocked and the transaction fails.

The only way to get an answer is to contact the operator of the parking meters.
