How do I delete the archived emails on my iMac computer. I am using Google mail. Also, all of my email is automatically archived. I called Apple Support and the had me delete and reinstall my mail account. It is still acting up.

Open the Archive folder, highlight the Google Account there, highlight any File or files there, right click & choose Delete.
PS, if you're doing this to gain space on Your HDD, you'd be better deleting some huge files. :)
I think somehow your Inbox got dragged to another Mailbox, maybe Archived, maybe Deleted, can't tell from here.
See if you can find out which Mailboxes are common to those.
To delete many read emails at once there are ways to to it...
One way would be a Rule...
Another would be to sort on Read/Unread, which is the little dot at the leftmost of the Geaders/
Select the top one you want to delete, then hold Shift key wilst selecting the bottom one you want to delete, then Right click on the Highlighted oes & choose Delete.
