Location Services don't work while connected to Cellular Network after 17.5.1 Update
I updated my iPhone 13 to the recent 17.5.1 Update on Sunday night. Since the update, the location features on key apps (Apple Maps, Google Maps, Find My, etc.) are barely functional when I am using cellular data.
When on cellular data, it's very hit-or-miss if my location properly loads when I open an app. The location arrow appears briefly but disappears. It's like the location requests try to connect but cannot - odd since I have been at locations where cellular service is extremely good and everything else is working smoothly.
The location services are perfectly fine when I am connected to Wifi. When I disconnect from the Wifi, the location services on cellular work for five minutes max before they crumble.
I have tried to refresh by:
- Enabling and disabling my Location Services whilst on Cellular
- Ensured that the Locations are set to on across the relevant apps.
- I have restarted my iPhone different times.
- I have toggled Airplane mode and Cell Data on and off.
- I have checked the Data and Time Zone settings
I am reluctant to do a Network Reset or Factory Reset as it is a major inconvenience for me.
Apple Team, if you could look into why this might be happening (are location service not connecting properly via cellular for some reason, is it going the way of iCloud syncing where cellular is considered 'poor network signal' and it doesn't connect?)
Anyone else experiencing location services issues - please reply and boost so it can hopefully be fixed ASAP!
