What is the current version of iTunes for Windows 10?

I don't know why they don't make this information very simple to find.

The most current version is 12.13.2.3. Released May 8th.

You can find the latest release info at the following website: click here ➜ Apple security releases - Apple Support

You can download the most current version of iTunes from Apple directly at https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/win64

Just to let you know, if you tap on the Help menu at the top of the iTunes window and select Check for Updates, it will tell you whether there is an update, or whether you have the current version installed:

and:

Clicking on Help/About iTunes will give you the "expanded" release number; 12.13.2.3.

However, there are a couple of caveats:

    1. Apple's messages can be misleading in that on Windows 7 the message will tell you that you have the current version of iTunes, even though it's an old version (12.10.11.2). This is because Windows 7 cannot use the later versions of iTunes. The message is poorly worded
    2. If you have installed iTunes from the Microsoft Store I believe it does not have the options to check for updates or the about iTunes because that version updates automatically, so in theory is always up to date
    3. Wikipedia has an entry for the History of iTunes that has a list of the versions and is usually only a day or two behind any new release. That said, I notice that the page's latest version says only 12.3.2, whereas every other entry on the list gives the expanded version number (12.13.2.3)

Thank you, Phil. I'm on that, but still unable to perform a Restore of my iPhone. It told me to go to "support.apple.com/iphone/restore" but the restore fails and one of the suggestions was to make sure I'm on a current version of iTunes. Of course, Apple doesn't publish anywhere whether you're on the current version or what it is, which seems pretty stupid.

Apple publishes in there security releases, the newer releases are at the top, and if you search for iTunes it tells you the newest one is 12.13.2.

You can find your version of iTunes by using the Help menu as suggested above.

How exactly is the restore failing?

What happens when you follow the directions in the If the Restore screen appears on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support website?

We can't really help you, if you don't explain your issue.

More frustrating is how many iPhones I've had that have gone bad in one way or another. And Macbook Airs. It just seems like it's not a very good company anymore. I've had overall much better experience in terms of reliability with my Androids (which I was on for about 10 years before my iPhones) and windows PCs. Oh well. Another step closer to the garbage can for this iPhone.

Yeah, it's just failing. iTunes extracts the files and then the phone starts the restore process and the little gray progress bar progresses most of the way across and then eventually iTunes just says that it didn't work. IT gives me an error with error code "(9)" and so then I read the section on that page you linked about "If the Restore screen still appears after you restart", which is why I was trying to figure out what version of iTunes is the current one, among other things. It turns out I'm on the current version of iTunes.

Then I read this page iOS update and restore errors - Apple Support

and then I looked at this page for error code 9, but there's not much there other than different ways of "trying again," which I've tried.

If nothing works, then as mentioned in the support document, you will need to contact Apple support and have them take a look at the device directly.
