Could my Apple ID be compromised if I got an email that my password was changed?

I received an email that my id was reset. I hadn’t done it so I’m trying to find out if I can get any information on who it was or what exactly happened.

It sounds like your Apple ID might be compromised or that you have received a scam mail.

Please go to settings >your name on your devices, If there is still your ID displayed there, it is most likely a scam mail. Please reset your Apple ID password to be sure

If there is another Apple ID displayed, your Apple ID is compromised. Please see this

  1. Change your Apple ID password
  2. If your Apple ID password has been changed by someone else, reset your password.
  3. Go to appleid.apple.com to update any of personal or security information that isn't correct or that you don't recognize.
  4. Check with your email address* provider to make sure that you control every email address associated with your Apple ID. If you don't control an email address, work with your email provider to regain control or use a different email address.

the Email seams legit as it does take me to apples page. I did change my passcode and I see today that it might have happened again. There is another email stating it happened again. The email is from the same sender as the email I received from changing my passcode with Apple. Seems like there should be a way to look at what device is logging on, Facebook and many other sites show that info.
