I received an email from Apple stating that my password for my other Apple ID has been reset.

I received the email yesterday. Im not sure if its a fake email and thankfully I tried to log in to my Apple ID first to make sure if I can still log in with the password that I saved on my phone, turns out I really can’t. I started panicking, now I’m still waiting for a response from Apple tomorrow to fix this issue. This is really scary, how can anyone do this? I thought Apple was supposed to be safer. Thankfully I don’t have any sensitive information on any of my ID’s so they shouldn’t be able to gain anything significant from this, but its still super scary. Could this be an error or something?

If you really cannot login with that Apple ID there is a change that the account is compromised. Apples services are really secure, but cyber criminals get smarter by the day I am afraid. Please see this on what to do to regain control of a compromised Apple ID

  1. Change your Apple ID password
  2. If your Apple ID password has been changed by someone else, reset your password.
  3. Go to appleid.apple.com
  4. Check with your email address* provider to make sure you control every email address associated with your Apple ID. If you don’t control an email address, work with your email provider to regain control or use a different email address.

If you can’t reset your Apple ID password or sign in

If you can’t reset your Apple ID password or sign in to appleid.apple.com, go to iforgot.apple.com
