After 17.5.1, I am no longer able to use the volume buttons to control devices connected to Spotify. I'm also having the same issue with the Sonos app. Please fix this, I was able to use them prior to the update.

Due to updates on iOS, Spotify users no longer can use their iPhone's volume controls to change the volume on connected speakers. Instead, please use the volume slider in the device menu.

There are now millions of Spotify connect users locked out from changing the volume using the iphone volume buttons. Unfortunately this problem is unlikely to be resolved as this is not a bug, but a deliberate restriction implemented by apple. I now have to use airplay to connect to my receiver if I wish to still have use of my iphone volume buttons and this is a pity as it makes changing songs quite laggy compared to how quick spotify connect functions. My phone battery also drains quicker.

First, this is a user to user forum, not a way to ask anything of Apple. Second, there is nothing for Apple to fix, that is a Spotify problem, unless it is a Settings problem: Go to Settings/Sounds & Haptics and make sure Change with Buttons is ON. If it is, turn it off, restart your phone, and turn it back ON. If that doesn’t fix it, contact Spotify support.
