Trackpad Haptic MacBook Pro 2017

I've had issues like many, losing trackpad click/haptic and only noticed it in Big Sur then after upgraded to Ventura. It didn't suggest hardware issue because it was working like it usually did. It worked for a while after booting and then it stopped working. Tried reset NVRAM, SMC, use the paper to go through the gap like many suggested but it never solved anything, sure haptic worked for a while then it stopped working again after minutes of use. I didn't want to do the heat gun, fridge, hairdryer method as to avoid damage.

What worked for me after doing this, and it has worked for a whole day of use, even after reboot, turned off and on again, wake from sleep. Run Apple Diagnostics at power up, by pressing D after turning it on, hold until the the Diagnostic screen appears and run the test. After the diagnostic, the result didn't detect any hardware issue with code ADP000. I expected no hardware failure even without running the test. And ever since the diagnostic test, my trackpad haptic is working again like before. Maybe those who are having this infamous non-isolated issue, can try this. I read through other thread of similar topic, but almost none mentioned doing Apple Diagnostic test. Maybe those who are still looking for a solution, can try it. However, I can comment if this 'fix' is for everyone, but worth a try.

My fix history:

  1. NVRAM reset (a few times)
  2. SMC reset
  3. Apple Diagnostic Test

Good luck!
