Trying to set up squeeze and double tap but its not saving the settings

As you can see in the photo I have selected the actions I want the squeeze and double tap to do but when I go back to Apple Pencil it still shows them as off and so they aren't working. Am I missing something, theres no save or done button so im not sure what else to do to make them work.

It says my software is unto date iPadOS 17.5.1 and I have tried turning the iPad on and off it doesn't make a difference sadly.

TIA

Sorted. Needed to go to Settings> Accessibility > Apple Pencil and turn on Double-tap Gesture

I hadn't realised the 'Apple Pencil' Showed up in 2 different places in the settings its under menu item 'Accessibility' and 'Apple Pencil'

So if you had double tap turned off on your old iPad and transfer the setting over then go to set the Squeeze and Double tap functions on the new Pencil Pro, you choose what you want the pencil to do under the 'Apple Pencil' setting but you turn those futures on under the 'Accessibility > Apple Pencil' setting.

Try a forced-restart of your iPad - as this will often clear an isolated software issue:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.
