My iPod won’t factory reset and my home button doesn’t work what do I do

I got my iPod touch from a garage sale and when I charged it to check it out it was asking me for Apple ID or iTunes but I don’t know the owner and I don’t have a computer with iTunes is there any way to fix this?

Removing previous owner's Apple ID from an old iPod I was given an old iPod from my friend but unfortunately whomever had owned it before their Apple ID is still logged into it and it’s telling me that I need to hook it up to ITunes but I had tried and I couldn’t get their Apple ID off so I could login into mine. What can do to fix that??? Or is there a way I can bypass it so my daughter is able to use it as an MP3 player??? iPod reset for new owner I purchased 2 used iPods at an estate sale. Both are linked to different accounts from each other. While trying to do a reset to mfr settings, i got the message that the previous owner needs to remove the device from their account. I have no idea who that would be, nor do I know if they are even alive. Like I said, it was an estate sale. What can I do now? I do have a digital receipt from the auction company if that helps. Thanks

Probably not. If the problem is activation lock (5th generation iPod Touch or later), you will not be able use it without knowing the original ID and Password. See Activation Lock for iPhone and iPad - Apple Support
