Buying a new iPhone

I am thinking about upgrading to the 15 pro max from the iPhone XR but the only upgrade i really care about is USB-C, is it worth spending $1300 just for USB-C or should i just get a refurbished 14 pro max from backmarket?

Do Apple-refurbished iPhones come with old or current iOS? I'm thinking of getting an Apple-refurbished iPhone, probably a model from a couple years ago. Does anyone know if Apple updates the iOS for those? Or does it depend on what the previous user had installed most recently? Thanks

This is an impossible kind of question. Everybody will have their own personal preferences but the only one that matters in the end is yours. My thoughts are that adapters and cables are pretty inexpensive.
