Yep. The Uber app requires an iPhone which can run iOS 16.2 or higher. If you were looking for an excuse to get a new iPhone, this should help. You'll find many more apps which are no longer compatible for such an out of date iOS version as your phone runs.

A significant number of app developers have chosen to abandon their support of older operating systems like iOS 15 to focus on apps that will use iOS 16 and 17 and newer operating systems.
App developers could continue to support older iOS versions like iOS 15.....if they wanted to do so.....but a number have decided otherwise.
So, don't be mislead. It is not Apple that is abandoning support of your older apps, it is the app developers themselves.
