I really don’t see why my iPhone 14 Pro Max with 1 TB storage can’t run at least some parts of Apple intelligence like:

1- Mail auto categorization

2- The typing feature that helps rewrite paragraphs ( chat gpt app does it already on the 14 pro max )

3- Messages auto categorization

4- new Siri UI

5- smarter Siri (context understanding)

the rest I get it, wanna make it exclusive to the newer phones and all.

but this is unfair. And I’m actually thinking seriously to move away from Apple due to those below the belt moves.

i paid 750 omani rials for my phone in 2022,

you telling me i gotta pay this again now? Come on!

the phone has most of what iPhone 15 pro max has minus just 3 features.

i hope Apple will do something to bridge this disconnect with 14 pro and pro max users and older.

This app is currently only compatible with iPhone 15 and iPhone 16. However, it should work on iPads with an M-series chip or Apple Silicon a18 chip. My iPad supports it. If you see a rainbow outline at the edge of the screen, it means that intelligent models have been installed. To install them, just follow the on-screen instructions. Apple intelligence was used within the sentences.

Why AI will not work on 14 pro max?

The most likely explanation is the the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max have some important piece of hardware that other iPhones, including the iPhone 14 Pro Max, don't.

For instance, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has 6 GB of RAM. That's more than most iPhones have – but every one of the platforms slated to get the Apple Intelligence beta has at least 8 GB of RAM. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max have 8 GB of RAM and are the only iPhones to have that much.

This means we need to change the phone every year 👍 Good Job

Whether or not the iPhone 14 Pro Max gets Apple Intelligence, it's still in line to get iOS 18.

It’s very very strange that the oldest iPhone compatible with Apple Intelligence is the iPhone 15 Pro, but maybe because it has the oldest processor that can do a lot of work, the A17 Pro. Only iPads and Macs with M processors can have Apple Intelligence, such as the iPad Pro M4, M1 chip MacBooks, etc. Even though newly announced Apple software versions like iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS sequoia, etc are compatible with other devices, like iPad (9th generation), iPhone XS Max, etc

The iPhone 15 Pro uses A18 SOC (processors). It actually has the latest SOC for iPhone, not the oldest.

That's the latest SoC for iPhones – and the oldest that will be able to run the Apple Intelligence beta when that beta first comes out. All of the older iPhone SoCs are in iPhones that won't get that beta.

Apple has left open the possibility that in the year following the introduction of the Apple Intelligence beta, there will be support for more platforms. They have not made iron-clad promises as to models, or times, but it is easy enough to guess that if they can figure a way to port it to less capable iPhones, that iPhones which have 6 GB of RAM might be the most likely to get Apple Intelligence in a "second pass."

The iPhone models that have 6 GB of RAM are the iPhone 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max, 14 (all variants), 15, and 15 Plus.
