Safari constantly crashing

Running a 2019 Intel 16-inch MacBook Pro on Sonoma 14.5. Recently Safari and other browsers (Edge, Chrome, Opera, Firefox) have refused to load chatgpt.com and a few other websites. When I try to log into my account the browser immediatly crashes. I turned off all my extensions & the problem persists. Does anyone have any ideas that can help. I have run an Etrecheck report if necessary.

CT, you are a lifesaver!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I have wasted days on this, following numerous Apple support & other threads, trying their suggestions.

On deleting ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SpeakSelection.plist all browsers now operating normally again.

Thank you for saving me from having to recover from a TimeMachine snapshot & then recover all my work files of the last few days.

I have cleared the NVRAM & SMC, problem persists. I have booted Safari in Safe mode, problem persists. I have booted in safe mode, problem persists. I have disabled all extensions, problem persists. I have created a new user account & Safari (and all the other browsers work okay). Does anyone have any suggestions how I track the problem further to find the culprit in my user acccount?
