Nord VPN is not doing you any favors. Most people don't need a VPN and, if you do need it for company reasons, the company will issue you one that is compatible with their network package. Some retail VPNs may not even be secure.

The only way to keep your computer from draining the battery overnight is to shut it down. Even then, some small amount of battery power will be used to maintain important settings and parameters, like the location of your startup volume.
A computer when "asleep" is like you—you brain can still be active, just at a lower level. During sleep time at night, some apps may run scheduled tasks, and automated self-maintenance, standard in macOS for 24 years†, runs in the small hours of the morning.
Even some web pages may "check in" if left open in the background during sleep.
In addition to getting rid of CMM-X and the VPN, try closing browsers at night. If you must leave a browser open, accept that you may continue to see a reduction in battery charge overnight.
