2020 Macbook Pro draining battery when sleeping

My Macbook 2020 Pro has been draining of its battery when in sleep mode no matter what the laptop is charged to before to. I have done research on this for weeks and have switched the WiFi and bluetooth off but that made a difference a couple of times but now that has stopped working. I also read that turning Screen Time has solved the issue for many people but unfortunately that didn't work for me either.

I have done an EtreCheck report and hope that someone can help me.

I would appreciate anybody's help because this is driving me crazy.

re: < Antivirus software: CleanMyMac>

Uninstall these garbage app...

Look for an official in-app uninstaller

if in doubt search the developers website or contact their: Support/Help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility/uninstall…

The general rule is Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/Anti-Virus/VPN

all known to cause issues on the macOS

Verify your >System Settings>Battery>Options

I would also recommend on your Intel mac reset the System Management Controller Reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

Nord VPN is not doing you any favors. Most people don't need a VPN and, if you do need it for company reasons, the company will issue you one that is compatible with their network package. Some retail VPNs may not even be secure.

Look at the last paragraph in this article:

https://innovation.consumerreports.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/VPN-White-Paper.pdf

None of the VPNs that spend $millions$ on heavy advertising are listed.

The only way to keep your computer from draining the battery overnight is to shut it down. Even then, some small amount of battery power will be used to maintain important settings and parameters, like the location of your startup volume.

A computer when "asleep" is like you—you brain can still be active, just at a lower level. During sleep time at night, some apps may run scheduled tasks, and automated self-maintenance, standard in macOS for 24 years†, runs in the small hours of the morning.

Even some web pages may "check in" if left open in the background during sleep.

In addition to getting rid of CMM-X and the VPN, try closing browsers at night. If you must leave a browser open, accept that you may continue to see a reduction in battery charge overnight.

-----------------

† — this is why you don't install scammy cleaning apps. Catlike, Macs clean themselves. Adding dung-ware only interferes with this elegance you paid Apple to build into the OS.
