I have only noticed this over the last couple of days but it seems when someone messages me it does not display their name. It simply just says messages has anyone else ran into this? Is there a way to change it back so it displays your contacts name?

I started having this problem recently. I'd gotten an Apple Watch and messed around with notification settings. I'd never set my phone to show the entire text message but I do want to see who the message is from.
It's not obvious how to fix it. So in "Notifications" make sure you've selected "List" not "Count" or "Stack." Once I switched back to "List" I started seeing who the text was from but not the message itself.
Thank you for the reply. Yeah notifications are all as they should be. Im located in Australia. Everyone else i know has this issue then out of nowhere it reverted back to how it should be. No its gone back to this issue. Just frustrating.
