Remove hyperlinks when forwarding an email message.

When replying to or forwarding a message in Rich Text using Apple Mail, sometimes the blue hyperlinks are a nuisance. One can remove each link individually. There is no Applescript to remove all of them.

One way I use to remove all links at once is to...

Select the link-spangled text area of your new message

⌘-C (Copy the area)

⌘-N (Create a fresh blank message)

Click in the empty text area of the fresh blank message

⌘-V (Paste the link-spangled text)

⇧-⌘-T (Make plain text - the blue of the links will disappear)

⇧-⌘-T (Make rich text - so as to make it like it was)

⌘-A (Select the now-linkless text)

⌘-W (Back to your new message, link-spangled area still selected)

⌘-V (Paste the linkless text)

Of course, the new text will have lost all formatting along with the links.

Why not just use the Format -> Make Plain Text menu option which strips all formatting (including links)

Yes, that will work, too, if you don't mind converting your entire new message to plain text.

The procedure described above that I use applies ⇧-⌘-T to only the link-spangled part of my new message.

this may be true on what you see on your end, but will be delivered as a hotlink on the other end.

you can simple knock off the https:// or https://www portion of your link ref.
