Connected external microphone isn't showing listed on sound Input on MacBook Air I have an MacBook Air and I'm using GarageBand. So I need to record some voice with my external microphone. I connected it using 3.5 mm aux audio cable. When I go into system preferences - Input - the device isn't listed in Input, but in Output it listed. Any ideas? If it make sense my external microphone is Shure 8700.

Rode NT-1 5th Gen I’m not getting sound from My rode nt-1 5th gen mic when plugged into my 2020 MacBook Air. I’m using the usb-c connection. I tried fixing the MIDI but it doesn’t even recognize the mic is connected. The input/output only recognizes the MacBook speakers and the headphones. What am I missing?

Mic in my MBP on El Capitan does not work I am running a Mac Mini (early 2009) on El Capitan. In trying to connect to Zoom I found that the Mic does not work. I opened Preferences, Sound and Input and verified that the mic is not working. I also went to Preferences, opened Security & Privacy, and found that the mic is not shown in the left pane. Will apprecite your insights to solve this problem
