Why can't I connect Mac M1 and iPhone 15 Pro via Bluetooth?

When I turn on the Bluetooth on both devices, only my iPhone finds the Mac in Other Devices, the Mac doesn't find my iPhone, and when I click on my iPhone to connect it to my Mac two types of messages show up:

  1. Pairing Unsuccessful - Pairing took too long. Make sure "......'s MacBook Air" is turned on, in range and ready to pair. ( My Mac and iPhone are next to each other, with enabled Bluetooth and turned on )
  2. Pairing Unsuccessful - ".....'s MacBook Air" is not supported

Why is that and is it normal?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.3

Bluetooth pairing of an iphone with a computer has never been supported.

It’s also not necessary. Handoff, continuity, air drop, etc. do NOT require traditional pairing.
