Well, you can’t “accidentally” get iOS 18, because it is currently a closed beta only available to registered developers and invited “appleseed” beta testers. But here is the guidance for removing it→Apple Beta — Restore Shipping Software

Note that you will have to restore your iPhone to factory settings, then restore a backup made before the beta was installed.

i am also trying the same thing I updated my iPad from 17 to 18. And I have the same problems. Did you get a solution for it? Because I can’t seem to fix it.

Per the reply you seemingly referenced…

My iPhone was recently left at a family member’s house and before I got it back they had updated my iPhone to the iOS 18 beta version. And I absolutely hate it. I’ve been having problems with battery where it will completely shut off and not turn back on for hours. So now I’m trying to downgrade to iOS 17 but I don’t know how. Thank you in advance.

…if your iPhone was left in somebody else’s control and they then decided to beta-update it, then your passcode is definitely and likely also your Apple Account has been compromised.

You’ll want to address that security breach first. Passwords and trusted devices and location tracking and the rest all need review and changes.

If this was leaving a device for some little people to use while it was still signed into your Apple Account, this and other issues are fairly common outcomes. Surprise purchases, precious photos and videos permanently deleted media, deleted messages and mail, clobbered settings, and worse, are also all common outcomes.

As for now running some iOS 18-ish beta, welcome to iOS 18, there’s no downgrade to iOS 17, and you’ll want to follow the instructions to exit the beta as has been linked from various replies in this thread.
