Battery not recognized (water damage)
I have an iPhone 14 that I dropped in a small bucket of water while cleaning. My phone is displaying that it does not recognize the battery and I need to have it repaired. I have Apple Care and will be taking it to the Apple store for repair but my question is why am I paying 103.00 for service when this phone claims to be able to be dust and water proof "the iPhone 14 is water resistant, with an IP68 rating that means it's dust-tight and can handle being submerged in fresh water for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 6 meters. This means it should be fine if dropped in a puddle, shallow pool, or wet from rain. It can also take underwater photos, but only up to a depth of 1–2 meters." Clearly this is not the case and shouldnt my apple service cover this completly? And Ive had iPhones for well over 10 years and have yet to file a claim, This seems ridiculous to me.
