erasing a stolen iphone

The "erase" is still pending.

If the phone was erased, an option to "Cancel Erase" would not appear. In other words, you could not cancel the erase because it had already occurred.

Your phone is protected by the passcode. No way that anyone could guess the correct passcode in less than 10 tries before the phone locks out.

Do not remove the phone from the list of devices using your Apple ID. True, you will never see the phone again, but it will at least frustrate the bad guys who have your phone because they won't be able to use it.
