autofocus issues on iphone 13 pro

in low-light conditions or when i zoom in even in a light scene, camera just can’t focus properly. it switches to macro, tries different focus distances and eventually gives up and leaves me with completely blurred image preview. i have no screen or camera protector on my phone. taking of the case or taping on a screen to focus manually doesn’t do anything. l’ve seen a lot of people writing about this problem since 2021 (the year iphone 13 was released) and it still occurs on iphone 15 pro and pro max. it seems outrageous to me, that nothing has been fixed. moreover, most of the questions are left unanswered. 3 years passed…

my iphone 13 pro is currently running IOS 17.1.2. this problem appeared on the first day after the purchase of the phone
