iPhone 15 Pro Max cellular service issues

Continuation of iPhone 15 Pro Max cellular service issues question started by mrokarkd250 on Oct 22, 2023 3:58 AM but recently closed. I do not know why. 256 replies to that thread. Latest reply was posted Jun 19, 2024 1:59 PM in response to mrokarkd250.


I moved my iPhone 15 Pro back to a physical SIM on Wednesday. I originally had a physical SIM but Vodafone Australia suggested trying a new SIM. So, I tried an eSIM and removed my physical SIM. That test did not work. Mobile data dropped out. So, I moved back to a new physical SIM and then noticed that Mobile Data Options > Voice & Data is set to 4G. Since moving back to a physical SIM and using 4G only my mobile data connection has been stable. While a stable and reliable mobile data connection is good one of the reasons I purchased an iPhone 15 Pro is for the 5G connection! I'll keep testing.

The thing I find interesting is that your phone acts differently between using a SIM and an eSIM. On iPhones, the SIM/eSIM only carries your carriers configuration settings, and it should be the exact same between them. The fact that's it different on your phone tells me whoever at Vodaphone that is setting these up is clueless to what they are doing.
