iphone 15 phone screen dims in the sun and I can barely see the screen

This issue has been posted before but I am constantly having this issue across multiple iphones. When in brighter light conditions, usually sunlight, the screen dims and I can barely see the screen. I pull down from the top of my screen and the brightness is all the way up. Phone has been restarted multiple times, auto brightness is off. my settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Auto-Brightness is OFF. I have turned it on and off and re-booted my phone. Still an issue. HELP! I play POKEMONGO and today was Community Day and we do it outside walking around. It was horrible for 3 hours barely seeing the screen. :)

Most likely the phone is dimming itself because it is getting too hot in the sun. It happens when the phone overheats so it attempts to use less power by dimming the screen. Try to keep the phone out of direct sun so it can stay cooler.

Stopping Dimming in Daylight:

Update your iPhone***, and then perform two things...

Go to: Settings
Tap: Displays & Brightness
Tap: Appearance
Tap: Automatic (so that it is greyed-out)

and...

Go to: Settings
Tap: Accessibility
Tap: Display & Text Size
Tap: Auto-Brightness (so that it is greyed-out)

***Updating an iPhone:

A. Update Using a Computer:

Have a Computer Handy? If so, try using a computer to update. Go here: Update your iPhone Using a Computer - User Tip. If any updates are availabe, they will install, sure enough.

B. Connecting Using Ethernet:

If WiFi is giving you issues on the computer, then connect through Ethernet, going directly into your router. For a Mac (or PC) that does not have Ethernet, this would be the adapter to use: Belkin USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter - Apple
